Abstract

May 2020, 3 cities in Nusa Tenggara Timur experienced inflation of 0.12 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 103.92. Kupang City experienced an inflation of 0.15 percent, Maumere City experienced a deflation of 0.05 percent and the City of Waingapu experienced an inflation of 0.06 percent.

May 2020 inflation in Nusa Tenggara Timur occurred because of an increase in the price index in 8 out of 11 expenditure groups. The expenditure group that experienced the largest price index increase was the transportation group which rose by 3.47 percent.

In May 2020, out of 90 National CPI sample cities, 67 cities experienced inflation and 23 cities experienced deflation. The city experiencing the highest inflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan City by 1.20 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Tanjung Pinang City, Bogor, Madiun by 0.01 percent. While the biggest deflation occurred in Luwuk City by 0.39 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in Manado by 0.01 percent.
