Abstract

January 2020, 3 Cities in East Nusa Tenggara experienced inflation of 0.53 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 103.95. Kupang City experienced 0.47 percent inflation, Maumere City had 0.64 percent inflation and Waingapu City had 0.98 percent inflation.

January 2020 inflation in East Nusa Tenggara occurred because of an increase in the price index in 7 of 11 expenditure groups. The expenditure group that experienced the largest price index increase was the food, beverage and tobacco group which rose by 3.16 percent.

In January 2020, out of 90 National CPI sample cities, 79 cities experienced inflation and 11 cities experienced deflation. The city experiencing the highest inflation occurred in Meulaboh by 1.44 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Gorontalo City by 0.03 percent. While the biggest deflation occurred in Bau-Bau City at 1.39 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in Kudus at 0.01 percent.
