Abstract

  • August 2020, 3 cities in Nusa Tenggara Timur experienced deflation of 0.71 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 102.82. Kupang City experienced a deflation of 0.92 percent, the City of Maumere experienced an inflation of 0.71 percent and the City of Waingapu experienced a deflation of 0.48 percent.
  • August 2020 deflation in Nusa Tenggara Timur occurred due to a decrease in the price index in 7 of 11 expenditure groups. The expenditure group that experienced the largest decrease in the price index was the food, beverage and tobacco group, which increased by 2.19 percent.
  • In August 2020, of the 90 national CPI sample cities, 37 cities experienced inflation and 53 cities experienced deflation. The city with the highest inflation occurred in Meulaboh at 0.88 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Batam, Kediri and Kotamobagu at 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Kupang City at 0.92 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in the cities of Banyuwangi, Bekasi, Tembilahan and Sibolga at 0.01 percent.
