Abstract

June 2020, 3 cities in Nusa Tenggara Timur experienced deflation of 0.02 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 103.89. The city of Kupang experienced a deflation of 0.07 percent, the City of Maumere experienced an inflation of 0.55 percent and the City of Waingapu experienced a deflation of 0.30 percent.
The June 2020 deflation in Nusa Tenggara Timur occurred because of a decrease in the price index in 5 of the 11 expenditure groups. The expenditure group that experienced the largest price index decline was the transportation group which rose by 0.79 percent.
In June 2020, out of 90 National CPI sample cities, 76 cities experienced inflation and 14 cities experienced deflation. The city experiencing the highest inflation occurred in Kendari City by 1.33 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Makassar City by 0.01 percent. While the largest deflation occurred in Ternate by 0.34 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in Padangsidimpuan by 0.02 percent.
