KSA-based Rice Ubinan Survey Briefing with CAPI Method

KSA-based Rice Ubinan Survey Briefing with CAPI Method

July 30, 2020 | BPS Activities

The Ubinan survey is routinely carried out by BPS which produces data on land area, production and rice productivity. Previously, the ubinan survey used a household approach. This approach takes quite a long time, by updating the household first to obtain a sample list of rice crop business households that harvest in a certain subround. Currently, the survey is based on Area Sampling Framework (KSA), which uses observation points in the sub-segment according to the phase of rice growth. This is done so that the rice production data produced is more accurate, fast, and on time.

To support the need for optimal data collection, the current data collection method has been changed from Paper and Pencil Interviewing (PAPI) to Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI), therefore a KSA-based Rice Ubinan Survey Briefing is carried out using the CAPI method.

The briefing was held on Thursday, July 30, 2020 in the hall of Statistics of Flores Timur Regency Office; of course by paying attention to the health protocols established by the government : all participants and presenters have their body temperature checked and wash their hands regularly, all participants wear masks, and pay attention to the distance between participants at least one meter. This activity was attended by employees and several partners of Statistics of Flores Timur Regency. The briefing is divided into two sessions, learning about class definitions and practicing ubinan.
